On what principle does an electronic balance work?

When an object is placed on the weighing pan, its gravity causes a slight displacement of the pan. After the displacement sensor detects this, the control circuit supplies current to the electromagnetic coil, generating an electromagnetic force that is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the gravity, bringing the pan back to the balanced position.

At this point, the current is proportional to the gravity of the object (corresponding to its mass). After the circuit converts it into a digital signal, the mass value of the object is displayed on the screen.

1. Precision Grades and Application Scenarios

Electronic Balances can be classified into precision balances (with a precision of 0.01g - 0.1g, commonly used for weighing industrial raw materials) and analytical balances (with a precision of 0.0001g or higher, like the one in the picture, mostly used in scenarios with extremely high precision requirements such as chemical experiments and pharmaceutical research and development).

2. Detailed Functions of Core Components

Glass Wind Shield: Reduces the interference of air flow on the weighing pan and avoids measurement errors caused by air currents.

High-Precision Displacement Sensor: Can capture micron-level displacement changes to ensure the accuracy of electromagnetic force adjustment.

Microcontroller Unit (MCU): It has functions such as data calibration, unit conversion (such as switching between grams and milligrams), and fault self-detection, and is the core of the balance's intelligence.

3. Key Precautions for Daily Use

Placement Environment: It should be placed on a horizontal and shock-proof table, away from strong magnetic fields and heat sources; otherwise, it will interfere with the electromagnetic force balance system.

Preheating and Calibration: It needs to be preheated for more than 30 minutes before use, and calibrated with standard weights regularly to ensure measurement accuracy.

Operation Specifications: When weighing, place the object gently to avoid overloading (exceeding the maximum range of the balance will damage the electromagnetic coil).
